Chairman of the Board
A Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA), Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants (FCMA) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies and is pursuing doctoral studies in Theology. Paul received numerous professional capital markets accreditations licenses in Canada and the United States.
Paul’s curriculum vitae includes many years as an investment advisor and options/futures specialist, followed by portfolio management, and investment dealer executive leadership with P&L accountability in both large established firms and in de novo start-ups. Paul later held a critical role as a Commissioner with the Ontario Securities Commission, Canada’s largest securities regulator. He also served as chair of the board of the Investment Education Fund, an investor literacy body, and a special Investor Advisory Panel to the regulator. Following several advisory roles to banks involved in both U.S. and Mexico, and expert witness work, Paul currently serves as a member of the Investment Review Committee for the mutual funds management subsidiary of a major Canadian Bank, and is Chair of a Treasury Board of Canada Departmental Audit Committee.
An academic, Paul is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Leadership and Advancement Advisor at McMaster Divinity College, following seven years as Dean of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Paul led the planning, development and establishment of DeGroote’s Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington. As a former Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, he was awarded an Outstanding Teacher Award in 2003 and again in 2004.
Paul also serves his community as a Deacon in the Anglican Diocese of Niagara.
