For over 25 years, Brenda has been developing human potential and helping others “be better tomorrow than they are today”. She takes great pride in watching people discover and grow their career potential.
Brenda brings a wealth of experience to Verity and has a career that spans a wide spectrum of business activities including business process re-engineering, customer service, change management, talent management, strategic HR management, teaching, nursing and coaching for performance excellence. She has spent more than 25 years in senior leadership roles within the Ontario Public Service (OPS). There she led the Project Management Office and Executive Committee Secretariats in the successful delivery of high profile projects. She also led the development of the Talent Management Program for ServiceOntario, including a Succession Plan for senior management portfolios. She designed and implemented the Service Delivery Model for the government’s transformation initiative (ServiceOntario) to integrate and modernize the service delivery network. She directed the province’s health card registration and claims payment programs (formerly known as OHIP). Prior to joining the OPS, Brenda worked as a nurse in cardiac health and was a secondary school teacher of music.
Although Brenda’s formal education is focused on music, adult education and nursing, she also holds many certifications – Masters Certificate in Project Management (MCPM), MBTI Licensed Administrator, StressMap® Licensed Administrator, Senger-Miller (Achieve) Licensed Facilitator, St. Francis Xavier University Adult Education Facilitator.
Brenda has developed and delivered leadership development seminars and career enhancement workshops across Ontario and has successfully implemented learning and development programs in several ministries in the OPS.
